NIUS Studio Legale advised Nexus, a special-purpose vehicle established by Cos.eco. Industrie Group, on the acquisition of the Hiab manufacturing plant in Statte (Taranto), a site subject to closure proceedings and included in a crisis-management process at the Italian Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy.
The transaction was completed through an agreement providing for the transfer of 45 employees to Nexus, ensuring full employment continuity and the continuation of the site’s manufacturing activities. The outcome was achieved following extensive negotiations with trade unions and institutional stakeholders.
The NIUS team, led by employment lawyers Alessandro Paone and Antonio Orsini, handled all employment and industrial relations aspects of the transaction, including negotiations with employee representatives and institutional engagement. Donato Caldaurlo, partner at NIUSLab, supported the process on local industrial relations and social security measures.
